AHA – Basic Life Support (Healthcare Providers) $80

Course Length: 4 – 4 ½ hours

The BLS Course is a video-based course with real world scenarios that teaches participants to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED.

In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.

This course is for those in the Healthcare field (doctors, nurses, allied health, radiology, lifeguards, EMS or students entering these fields). If you are not sure which course to take check with your employer, school or contact us.

Course Emphasis

  • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
  • The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
  • Use of an AED
  • Effective ventilations using a barrier device
  • Importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR

AHA Bloodborne Pathogens $25

Course length: approximately 1 hour

Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Course was designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction.  This course is for anyone with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens. Employees will learn how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials.

Course Emphasis:

The Bloodborne Pathogens course uses the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and slogan, “Make a PACT, Know How to Act,” to help students learn and easily recall bloodborne pathogens training.

  • Protect themselves from exposure to bloodborne pathogens in the workplace
  • Act when exposed to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace
  • Clean themselves and the area when exposed to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace
  • Tell or report any exposure to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace

There is no skills testing or skills demonstration required for this course. It can be taken for first-time or renewal bloodborne pathogens training. After successful completing AHA certificate will be given.

AHA – Heartsaver ®CPR/AED $55

Course length: approximately 3 hours

This is a video based instructor led course for anyone with limited or no medical training that desires a AHA CPR/AED completion card to meet regulatory or job requirements. In the classroom students will learn how to provide CPR and use an AED in a safe and effective manner. They will learn how to recognize cardiac arrest, call for emergency help and provide help until emergency personnel arrive. They will also learn how to help when an adult, child or infant is choking. Training will be conducted using the AHA’s  research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.

AHA Heartsaver® First Aid $40

Course length: approx. 3 hours

Heartsaver® First Aid is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches critical skills needed to respond to and control an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives. Students learn duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers; first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke; and skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, and bites and stings, and communication skills.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training that desires a AHA First Aid completion card to meet regulatory or job requirements. Training will be conducted using the AHA’s  research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.

AHA Heartsaver ®First Aid/CPR/AED $80

Course length – approximately 7 hrs

Heartsaver® First Aid/CPR/AED is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches critical skills needed to respond to and control an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives. Training will be conducted using the AHA’s  research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.

Blended Learning Skills Sessions $ see below

Course length – up to 1 hour

Blended learning is a combination of online cognitive learning  and skills training. After the online portion students must attend a skills session to complete the training.  Blending learning is perfect for those who are busy and don’t have the time to take the entire course in person.  You will have access for 2 yrs to the online training and resources. You are able to start and stop and complete the training at your own pace. The online portion can be taken at any time of day that is convenient for the student. The AHA requires all eLearning courses that involve psychomotor skills have 3 parts. The eLearning component involves cognitive learning in various ways such as animations, dramatizations, eSimulations, interactive activities and self directed learning.  Part one is taken online at https://www.onlineaha.org/ and for the in-person skills sessions Part two is skills practice and Part 3 is skills testing.
